Come learn how to make handmade, organic cold process soap with the fabulous Angela Carillo of Alegna Soap! Class size is limited to 10 students, so sign up today!
Each student will receive hands-on experience, an information-packed class handout with instructions, recipes, valuable supplier list and soap made in class.
You will learn safety guidelines and reach a level of comfort so that you can finally make soap by hand at home! We'll discuss how to formulate your own recipes, properly use and store lye, mixing lye and water, oils for soap making, fragrance oils vs. essential oils, superfatting, additives and exfoliants, coloring, molding and curing. Students will receive soap recipes and a list of Angela's favorite places to buy soap making supplies and equipment.
Each student will take home handmade soap made in class.

Biography: Angela Carillo is the president of Alegna Soap, located in Bethpage, NY. As a licensed Medical Technologist, she found a book on soap in 1999 and fell in love with the chemical reaction called soap making. She was able to combine her love of soap with her love of essential oils, and in 2010 she started her business, Alegna Soap. Her beautiful, natural soaps can be found online and in upscale boutiques.
Note: All classes must be prepaid in full. You will receive a confirmation email. Please dress for mess (bring an apron if you'd like!) and remember to take a plastic bag or two to transport the finished products you'll be taking home. Bring an old towel to insulate your soaps.
