Discover essential oils you may never have considered using in your blends, how to tweak based on various skincare/soaps/candles/perfumes you make, and other blending techniques from essential oil alchemist and owner of Back Porch Soap Company, Marla Bosworth. Marla will share 22 years of experience in this workshop to guide you in blending essential oils and natural fragrances to create signature blends.
Upon registration students will be sent a suggested shopping list of essential oil samples from one of Marla's favorite suppliers. The kit is not mandatory and students do not need to have it for the class.

If you're wondering how you will "experience" essential oils through an online class, rest assured that Marla is adept at conveying scent profiles through verbal descriptions. It is part of your artfulness to combine descriptions of your blends when you sell them, so this will be a valuable layer of expertise that she will share.
Learn how to custom blend essential oils and create best-selling, signature blends for soaps, candles, natural perfumes and indie beauty bath and body products. This course is an intensive blending experience and also a chance for students to experience a wide variety of essential oils. Come learn to intuitively blend without any rules, only following your inner guidance and your nose. You'll also explore creating intention blends, encoding memories of feelings, places or people. In our July workshop we had students who chose to commemorate a loved one, another chose to replicate the feeling of hiking in a forest, and another student created a blend to help inspire creativity in others. Why and what you blend in this class is completely up to you.
Marla will share what she's learned during her years of blending essential oils and incorporating them into soaps and beauty products. Then she will guide you through your very own, custom, essential oil blending creations. Custom, natural fragrance blends can increase sales for your products. If customers fall in love with your essential oil blends it will bring them back to you for more. We know they can purchase body butters, candles or soaps from a plethora of other companies, but if we have a scent blend that is unique and appealing, challenging to replicate or even energetically encoded, customers will navigate toward buying it.
