Melt and Pour Soapmaking Artistry with Cae - November 21

Learn the artistry of Melt and Pour Soapmaking in a fun and educational evening out.

Cae Byng of Soap Studio on Fifth has been making soap for more than 20 years and will teach you how to make your own beautiful melt and pour soaps. You will learn techniques such as layering, swirling, creating embeds and more. The soaps in the photo are an example of what you can make in class depending on the season and themes available. Students will make and take home at least 8 bars of soap.

Melt and pour soaps bring out your creative side. You can create customized soaps with special techniques as part of your indie beauty product line. Glycerin soaps set up within an hour and do not require any "cure time", unlike cold process soaps. They also do not require the use of lye or sodium hydroxide. You'll learn how to color, scent, and use herbs and other additives of your choice.

Cae will share tips, tricks and creative ideas, including packaging for festive events, tips on which bases to purchase (and which ones to avoid), whichcolors work (and which ones can ruin soap) and more guidelines to save you time and money.  In addition, you will receive a valuable class handout.
