In this recorded, online class you will learn how to make rich, thick liquid soaps and shower gels from scratch, using the dual-lye method. Forget hours of cooking liquid soap paste! This is a quick method that makes a beautiful, versatile liquid soap that can be used for a number of uses, from kitchen and bath liquid soaps in pumps to thick shower gels!
What this class will teach you: Liquid soaps can be tricky to formulate. Makers often get frustrated at trying to thicken them to your liking (I was one of them!) This is a fool-proof method using dual lyes (sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide), and I will simplify the process. Dual lye liquid soap making is a game changer because it speeds the process (which without it can take upwards of three hours) and also helps thicken the soap prior to the dilution process. If none of this makes sense to you, no worries, I will explain it in class. I've been making liquid soaps for more than 20 years, so you relax and trust me to cover all of the bases from start to finish.
In a total of four hours of learning, you will gain knowledge on how to tweak recipes, which oils and butters are best to use in liquid soaps and gels, how to preserve them, adjusting pH, adding colors and fragrances that do not cloud the final product, and much more. Attendees will receive two tried-and-true recipes and clear instructions on how to formulate other recipes.
