Your Instructor: Marla Bosworth is CEO and President of Back Porch Soap Company. She has been fully immersed in retail sales and marketing for more than 30 years. For the past 15 years Marla has taught product formulation classes to thousands of students from around the world. Her company's wholesale clients include Whole Foods and upscale boutiques. Marla shares her passion for cosmetic formulation, soap making, bath and body products, natural skincare and entrepreneurship. She feels her true calling is formulating natural and organic products and teaching others how to formulate soap and skincare luxuries.
Her credentials include a B.A. in English/Journalism from the University of New Hampshire in 1987. She has an extensive background in marketing, market research and manufacturer consulting as a Market Research Analyst for the company now known as Forrester Research. Clients included Hewlett-Packard, Canon, Xerox and IBM.
Marla is a contributing author for The Saponifier Magazine and an annual speaker at the Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild Conference. She leads natural skincare workshops and business seminars at colleges, universities, New York Botanical Garden, corporate training programs, adult education programs and conferences throughout the U.S.
