Hydrosol Distillation and Plant Wisdom Workshop - March 15

$248.00

This is a brand new workshop. Please join us and experience the magic of hydrosol distillation! Creating hydrosols and working closely with plant wisdom may open up magical doors and opportunities for you.
~Marla

This is a very special evening of connecting with wildcrafted botanicals through a live hydrosol distillation demonstration and plant medicine wisdom lessons. Come join us for a magical aromatherapy journey of plant alchemy led by Cindy Novak and Marla Bosworth. You'll take home a special bottle of our class hydrosol and learn different ways of how to use it.

Cindy will be guiding and teaching us the hydrosol distillation process. Students will embark on the journey of understanding how to begin distilling in your home or apartment. The tabletop-size copper still we are using will be perfect for you to replicate at home. It is ideal for those who want to start with small batches and may not have the space requirements for large still production.

Marla will discuss the energetics and alchemy of the process. She will show ways of honoring and connecting to nature in preparation for the distillation and throughout, including how to ethically wildcraft. Students will learn more about the sacred wisdom of plants and how to open up to plant communication. This evening we will be working with Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea pungens) that Marla wildcrafted in the wilderness of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. You can read about about some of those experiences from early February on Instagram here.

In addition, Cindy and Marla, who both have extensive knowledge in the indie beauty market, will discuss how to package and sell hydrosols as a standalone product, and also how to incorporate them into a myriad of beauty products including cosmetics for the face, hair, body as well as soap and fragrance.

During the distillation, Cindy will discuss:

Plant material used - fresh vs. dried
Plant monograph
How to prepare the plant for distillation
Hydro vs. steam distillations
What water is best to use and how to prepare it.
Plant material to water ratios and how to calculate amounts of each needed
Still types and styles
Parts of the still and their functions
Heat sources
How to keep your condenser water cool
How to keep a distillation journal
Separating the essential oils from the hydrosol
How to bottle essential oils and hydrosols
How to filter your hydrosol
Care and storage of hydrosols
How to clean the still after the distillation
What to do with the plant material after distillation

This workshop is open to anyone with no prior experience. Our workshops attract a diverse group of students from all walks of life and all over the world. We have many yoga teachers, massage therapists, life coaches, energy workers, nurses and indie beauty entrepreneurs attend Marla's workshops. We also have many students in search of their life purpose or destiny attend for clarity. All are welcome.

Marla creates highly experential workshops - a holistic perspective of learning by transforming new and ancient wisdom. If you've ever attended her classes you will recognize that she creates an encouraging, safe and supportive learning environment that is education as well as fun.
